Traditional medicine & clinical practice origins in Vietnam
Meet Dr. Thao Tran, DCM, DC, L.Ac., MT, BCTMB
Dr. Thao Tran is an integrative healthcare practitioner whose lifelong connection to Traditional Oriental Medicine began in childhood through her father, Dr. Minh Tran, a respected practitioner of Traditional Vietnamese Medicine (TVM).
Growing up in a family immersed in TVM, Dr. Tran was introduced at a very young age to the principles of traditional healing, herbal medicine, acupuncture, and the importance of understanding the body as a whole. Her father’s knowledge and dedication to healing became an important influence in her life and inspired her to carry this tradition forward through her own education and professional journey.
Dr. Tran began her formal healthcare career in Vietnam. She graduated from the University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Traditional Medicine Department at Ho Chi Minh City in August 2000 and subsequently served as a Physician Assistant at Traditional Oriental Medicine, Thong Nhat Hospital in Tan Binh District, Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.
After continuing her professional journey in the United States, Dr. Tran graduated from Palmer College of Chiropractic in February 2018. She earned her Master’s degree in Acupuncture from Northwestern Health Sciences University (NWHSU) in December 2021, followed by her Doctor of Acupuncture degree, specializing in Herbal Medicine, in December 2022.
Since 2021, Dr. Tran has worked with the Herbal Dispensary at Northwestern Health Sciences University, further developing her knowledge and experience with Traditional Oriental Medicine herbal formulas and individualized herbal wellness support.
In December 2023, Dr. Tran completed her training as a Massage Therapist and became Board Certified through the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage & Bodywork (NCBTMB). She is also board certified in acupuncture and is licensed to practice acupuncture in Minnesota, Iowa, and North Dakota.
Since November 2022, Dr. Tran has worked as an independent contractor with Impact Massage & Bodywork, providing Acupuncture, therapeutic massage and bodywork tailored to individual needs. In addition, since 2025, Dr. Tran has served as Adjunct Clinical Faculty at Northwestern Health Sciences University, contributing to the education and clinical development of future practitioners.
Honoring a Family Tradition
Dr. Tran’s approach to wellness brings together the traditional wisdom she inherited from her father with her extensive modern education and clinical experience.
At Tran Legacy Wellness & Recovery, she integrates acupuncture, Traditional Oriental Medicine, herbal formulas, massage therapy, and chiropractic principles to support pain management, mobility, relaxation, recovery, balance, and whole-body wellness.
Her passion for healing also extends beyond the treatment room. In 2023, Dr. Tran founded Greg and Friends Humanity Foundation, a community-focused nonprofit dedicated to expanding access to traditional and integrative healthcare through humanitarian missions, community clinics, education, and cross-cultural collaboration.
Through her community and international service, Dr. Tran has participated in efforts to bring acupuncture, massage, chiropractic care, and other wellness services to underserved communities, including humanitarian initiatives in Vietnam.
Her Philosophy
For Dr. Tran, healing is more than a profession—it is a family legacy and a lifelong calling.
Inspired by her father, shaped by her education, and strengthened through years of clinical and humanitarian service, she strives to honor the traditional roots of healing while creating an integrative approach for today’s patients.
“Her philosophy is simple: listen to the body, understand the individual, honor the wisdom of tradition, and create a personalized path toward balance, restoration, and wellness.”

Meet Dr. Tin Tran, DC, BS
Dr. Tin Tran was inspired to pursue healthcare after watching family and friends struggle to find answers and relief from traditional providers. His goal became clear: to provide the kind of care that truly makes a difference. Today, he empowers patients by teaching them about the body’s natural ability to heal itself and guiding them toward their health goals through chiropractic care and holistic wellness.
Dr. Tin loves the sense of community and the joy his team brings to promoting health. He takes pride in being part of a group that is not only passionate about wellness but also dedicated to helping patients take charge of their own health journeys.
A Unique Story: From the Hip Hop Dance Floor to Healing Hands
Outside the clinic, Dr. Tin’s story takes a unique turn—he was once a professional hip hop dancer, traveling the world to perform and battle. After a severe back injury during a dance competition introduced him to holistic healthcare, he found his true calling.
Through personal rehabilitation and restoring his own mobility, he gained a profound appreciation for how structural alignment, joint mechanics, and neuromuscular balance unlock true physical potential. Today, his rich background in dynamic movement directly informs his patient care—helping individuals of all ages recover resilience and move with renewed vitality.
When he’s not caring for patients, you’ll likely find him longboarding, snowboarding, paddle boarding, or exploring mountains and waterfalls on a backpacking trip.
His Philosophy
Dr. Tin believes that every person deserves care that addresses root causes rather than temporary symptoms. By educating patients on how the spine and nervous system function collaboratively, he fosters true health autonomy.
“Our bodies possess an innate ability to heal when given the right balance, movement, and alignment. My goal is to empower every patient to discover that potential and live life without physical limitations.”
“Listen to the body, understand the individual, honor the wisdom of tradition, and create a personalized path toward balance, restoration, and wellness.”
The Triad of Restorative Wellness
HEAL
Address fundamental root imbalances rather than temporary surface discomfort. By reducing systemic inflammation and revitalizing cellular pathways, we awaken the organism’s innate biological restorative power.
BALANCE
Integrate structural skeletal symmetry with smooth bioelectric nervous system function. Spinal alignment coupled with open meridian flow resolves trapped tension and restores internal neuromuscular tranquility.
THRIVE
Cultivate sustainable lifelong longevity. We empower patients through personalized herbal nutrition, daily kinetic hygiene, and proactive preventive regimens that help whole communities live unburdened lives.
